About Mollie

After graduating, the path wasn't immediately obvious. An early career in retail gave way to a pivot into corporate life in Liverpool in 2013, where a role as secretary marked the beginning of something more significant than it first appeared.

From there, through curiosity, commitment and the influence of some exceptional people, a progression to Senior Consultant followed, building expertise across a sector not typically associated with compelling communication.

What that background means in practice

A grounding in pensions (arguably one of the more demanding subjects to write about with any clarity or engagement) proved to be an unlikely foundation for a versatile writing career. The discipline of making complex, dry material accessible has since been applied across a broad range of subjects: fundraising, award submissions, pitches, neurodiversity, internal communications and more.

That variety isn't incidental. It reflects a genuine belief that strong writing begins with listening, asking the right questions and understanding what someone is actually trying to say - something no tool can replicate.

Beyond the work

Outside of professional life, the same energy goes into running, travel, live music and an unashamed obsession with the Titanic. A long-standing commitment to community is reflected in voluntary work with my running club, St Albans Striders, and a sustained focus on diversity and inclusion, recognised formally through contributions to more equitable environments and meaningful organisational change.
